This session explores practical, evidence-based behavior support strategies tailored specifically for special education paraprofessionals working in diverse classroom settings. Participants will learn how to identify the functions of student behavior, implement proactive antecedent interventions, and consistently deliver positive reinforcement to encourage desired behaviors. The session will also highlight effective de-escalation techniques, strategies for collecting accurate behavior data in real time, and frameworks for collaborating seamlessly with supervising teachers to maintain a safe, supportive, and predictable learning environment.
